DELEGATE: Tell us more about yourself!
I’m Lester Leo, a professional emcee based in Singapore. I’ve also hosted events around the region, in places like Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.
D: How did you start your business? What were some of the adversities that you faced?
The toughest part was getting people to know who I was and what I could do. When I just started, not having a thick portfolio was the hardest part. I’m thankful to clients who trusted me to host their events when I first started.
D: Most memorable experience since starting your business?
Every event is memorable for me, simply because each event is different and I have to react differently as an emcee. I love what I do and that’s why every event is very memorable.
D: What was your first job?
It was a roadshow for a jewellery brand. The memory is still very fresh in my mind. 🙂
D: What aspects of your personality can we see in your work?
I’m a versatile emcee, so I’m able to host formal ministerial events and also able to go crazy when hosting D&Ds. I suit the needs of the event and I showcase my personality there. 
D: What is one thing people don’t know about you?
I probably talk more on stage than in my private life.
D: What are your hobbies and passions outside of work?
I used to play soccer but ever since I tore my ACL and had to be sidelined, I’ve stopped playing active contact sports. I now play non-contact sports like golf, poker and tennis. I do still play soccer occassionally though.
D: How do you spend your weekends/ free time?
Most of my weekends are spent working at events. I love what I do, so working on the weekends is not a problem!
D: Top 3 things you would do with a friend who is visiting Singapore for the first time?
Eat local food, visit the Integrated Resorts and the Gardens by The Bay.
