The first step requires you to know what it is that you are listing. The things to consider varies according to the type of product you have. Actually, we have to take a step back. The first step is to know if you are listing a product or a service. Should it be a product, then issues that crop up are things like validity period or delivery options. Is it an item that’s only valid during the circuit breaker period? Or are you looking to have it be valid beyond the first of June? 

Given the current public health situation, delivery has suddenly become central to many business decisions. While pick up can always be an option, consumers may still be wary and chances are that delivery would be their go to option. Hence, it’s vital to do some backend work first and figure out which delivery method works best for your business. From there, there’s a need to gauge a delivery fee that benefits all parties involved.

Entice users to click on your gift cards or Instant Purchases

When a potential customer scrolls through, you’d want them to pause and (minimally) consider clicking on your gift card/Instant Purchase. In order to capture their attention, you have two options – visuals and choice of words for title. The visual side is self explanatory. Having a high quality photograph of your product or service increases the likelihood of a potential purchase. A good photograph can also add validity, from the potential customer’s POV. Naming of your gift card/instant purchase can help entice users as well! As much as it’s important to name accurately, having a tongue-in-cheek/pun filled name could turn out great if it matches the vibe of your business!

Also, a great way to entice users is to create gift cards or Instant Purchases around special occasions, events or themes. Depending on the type of business you run, there are certain occasions you might want to pay more attention to (eg. Mother’s Day, Children’s Day, end of the Circuit Breaker period etc.)

Be clear with details of your gift cards and Instant Purchases

At this stage, you’ve already piqued the interest of the user. The next step is to be clear with all the information provided. A good way to start could be reminding potential customers that the gift card or Instant Purchase you have happens to be a promotional rate. Everyone loves a discount, so keeping that in the minds of potential customers is a step in the right direction.

Thereafter, it gets rather tricky to have a one-size-fits-all guide. It really depends on the type of business you are running and the type of offers you’re having. For example, if you’re listing a gift card, validity period and redemption options become more relevant. For Instant Purchases, the “How to Redeem” segment may be more relevant instead. All in all, it’s good to prepare the following details in a clear and concise manner:

Today, the focus will be on Instant Purchase. Both work along similar lines, in that it aims to encourage Delegate users to support local businesses! 

With social distancing and circuit breaker now in full swing, reaching out to customers becomes a major hurdle. We are hopeful that Instant Purchase can help you in these trying times. From a vendor’s perspective, this is an amazing opportunity for you to populate packages which our users can instantly purchase. They’ll be able to use it at a later date, once everything settles down. The best part of this, you can list as many packages as you like with no listing fees.

During this circuit breaker period, as part of the community, we will be donating SGD1 for every package purchased on Delegate to The Courage Fund by NCSS. Donations will go towards supporting vulnerable individuals and families affected by COVID-19. This will come at no additional cost to you, so feel free to list as many attractive packages and spread the word to support our cause!

Alright, now that we know the benefits that Instant Purchase can bring to your business, let’s run through the process! On your part, please prepare the following details:

  • Name of package
  • Package price
  • Usual price (if applicable)
  • Package expiry date (if applicable)
  • Validity period (if applicable)
  • Package details (package inclusions, complimentary items and/or additional top-ups)
  • How to redeem package
  • Terms & conditions
  • Package image (recommended image size: 525 x 400px)

Thereafter, you can upload an Instant Purchase package on your Delegate PRO account. Alternatively, submit your package details via this form and we will populate your Instant Purchase package for you. Do take note that submission works on the basis of 1 form per package. If you want to list multiple packages, complete and submit a form, then submit a new one to list additional packages.

How do I upload an Instant Purchase package myself?

Login to Delegate PRO here and head to Under My Profile > Edit > Packages. Follow these simple steps below. 

Click on Instant Purchase toggle and fill in the relevant details like Package Validity Period, Package Start and/or End Date, Package Details, and instructions on How to Redeem. Please note that by default, our users will be directed to email you with their Instant Purchase confirmation number for redemption. Hit the Save Changes button at the top right hand corner of the page when you are done.

After your changes are saved, the page will refresh and an Upload Image button will appear as shown below. Click on that and choose your image. 

Lastly, check for all the details and ensure that the Live Toggle is on and you are good to go!

In addition, do keep your Delegate profile updated so customers have accurate information. Here are some tips on how you can optimise your Delegate profile. If you’ve yet to update your profile, you can login here.

Delegate PRO credits

Delegate PRO credits are fantastic tools to facilitate professional communication and build a premium marketing campaign for your business. If you are wondering what they can be used for, well they can help unlock a number of additional marketing opportunities. This way, visibility of your business is increased, and exponentially so!

Be a Featured Vendor (250 credits)

Increase exposure by featuring your listing at the top of Delegate’s Vendor Page or Package Page. This is important because when people search for a vendor, they often choose between the first half-a-dozen offerings on the front page. By being our featured vendor, you are right at the front of the queue. Potential customers will get a first glimpse of your business and this increases brand exposure as well the possibility of potential customers becoming actual ones!

Be on our social media platform (100-150 credits)

You can also unlock social media and content marketing with your available credits. Secure a shout-out on any of our official social media channels – Facebook page, Instagram page and Pinterest boards.

Be on our EDM Newsletter (300 credits)

Credits can also be used to feature your brand on email newsletter to reach even more interested audiences. Finally, to turn this exposure into sales, the credit system allows you to connect with interested users who interacted with your Delegate profile.

Out of credits?

With all these options available, running out of credits may well be a little bit of an issue! Without credits, you will unfortunately not be able to view and message a potential client or interested user. You will also not be able to view interested user’s contact information. A quick remedy to this is to purchase credits. It’s pretty straightforward (1 credit = S$1) and a minimum of 20 credits applies. They are then valid for 30 days. Earning credits is another option. One review or social media post is equivalent to 1 credit. Also, a quick and hassle free method is to have 1 transaction on Delegate PAY. That will get you 10 credits!

But is it enough? Apart from optimising your vendor profile, we have some cool tools on Delegate PRO to help you reach out to your target audience. Here’re some tips to make the most of your Delegate PRO account!


1. Generate leads through Interested Users

Users can click on your contact information in your vendor profile

You may be wondering why your contact information on your vendor profile is partially hidden. We figured that if a user is keen in hiring your business, they would click on it with the intention to find out how they could contact you. Thus, we notify you on these users and aid your lead generation process.

Under the ‘Interested Users’ tab, you’ll see a list of users who have clicked on the contact information on your vendor profile. You can view their contact details and send them a follow-up email directly, as well as upload email templates to make the follow-up process more convenient for you.

Note: 1 credit is deducted for every unique-user click on your contact information, and once your credits run out you will cease to have access to this function. Find out more about credits here


2. Track Your Performance

It is important to keep track of your vendor profile statistics to decide if you should maintain or improve your reach to potential clients. In the ‘Performance’ tab, you can see details such as:

  • Profile views
  • Potential clients: users who have enquired with you
  • Interested users: users who have clicked on your contact information
  • Website referrals: number of clicks to your website/social media from your vendor profile
  • Credits left
  • Total amount collected from transactions

3. Add a booking widget to your own platforms

Include a booking widget on your website to direct potential clients to your Delegate vendor profile and make it convenient them to hire you. Choose from three designs and simply paste the widget’s HTML code into your website or blog. We recommend placing the widgets under package or service descriptions, or pricing pages on your site.


4. Inspire event planners

When users are planning an event, they can create inspiration boards for the event to visualise how they want their event to be. Similar to Pinterest, users can add images they like to their respective event boards, and these images come from none other than you – our amazing vendors!

Your portfolio and main gallery photos can all be added to user boards so remember to upload as many high resolution, relevant images as possible. The more images you have pinned on user boards, the more exposure you get for your business!

In this article, we run through three basic steps to get you started on optimising your Delegate profile!


STEP 1: Build your Delegate profile

The first and most crucial step is to build your Delegate profile, which gives you the opportunity to briefly showcase your business to potential clients. In your profile page, do try to fill up all fields as accurately as possible!

Building block 1: Uploading a logo

Your logo appears in your profile and is seen by users when you connect with them. It gives your brand an identity and a visual means for users to recognise you. Your logo should communicate your brand attributes and personality.

Building Block 2: Describing your business

Providing a brief introduction to your business under “Description of Services” is crucial to give users a general idea of what you do. Remember to keep it informative and concise, to hold the reader’s attention and to convey your message clearly.

Building Block 4: Stating your vendor properties and terms & conditions

It is important to state in which countries you operate and the characteristics of your business, to let users easily decide if you’re the right fit for their event. Additionally, list your terms & conditions before they hire you to prevent any disputes.

Building Block 5: Providing your bank account details

Providing your bank account details will facilitate our transfer of the deposit to you when users transact on Delegate. 


STEP 2: Craft your gallery

A picture is worth a thousand words, so what better way is there to showcase your business than to use pictures? Apart from describing your service, using media can help users to visualise what you can offer.

Upload at least five high-resolution images and select images that represent the different aspects of your service, to give users a visual summary of your work. Tip: Landscape images look the most aesthetic on our Delegate profiles!

Portfolio

Upload albums of your past projects to showcase different themes that you have done. Include at least ten high-resolution images here, and don’t forget to slide the toggle on the top right of the album to make it visible to Delegate users!

Downloadables

Upload documents for users to download to learn more about your services. This could include floor plans, sample menus, terms & conditions, and brochures, in PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats.


STEP 3: List your packages

Offering packages is a win-win strategy for both you and your clients. As vendors, package deals can promote client loyalty and retention and drive repeated purchases. For clients, of course, they get to save some money when engaging your services. At Delegate, we recognise the importance of such packages and have optimised our platform for you to showcase them.

Here are some tips on how to pack a punch with package deals!

Here’s how you can add packages to your Delegate profile:

Do add in clear, concise information about the package, to prevent any possible disputes. You can opt to make your package exclusive to Delegate users, which increases your visibility on our vendor page and gives your packages priority listing on Delegate. Don’t forget to slide the ‘live’ toggle on the top left of the package page to make it visible on your vendor profile.


STEP 4: Finalise your Delegate profile

Preview your vendor profile to check if everything looks great, and – most importantly – click on ‘save changes’ to finalise your profile.

That’s it! Now you’re ready to kickstart your business on Delegate!

Delegate has just launched the world’s first virtual event planning assistant! The chatbot, named ‘Grace’ is our platform’s “E-ventbot” and is now available for users on both our Facebook page and on Delegate.

Powered by machine learning and natural language processing technology, the aim of Grace is to give users of Delegate a more personalised and conversational online event planning experience. To generate and fine-tune the bot’s responses, the team built Grace by mining historical data such as variations of actual user enquiries, event budgets, most requested vendors, popular event types and seasonality.

Benefits to Delegate Users:

●  Aid users in the search and discovery of event vendors for hire in the shortest amount of time

●  Receive direct recommendations from Grace about which vendors are available based on their chosen event type, budget and capacity
