[Vendor Feature #19] : LoveLens

DELEGATE: Tell us more about yourself

I am a Destination Wedding/Pre-wedding Photographer from Indonesia who is currently staying happily in Singapore.

Randy Tan From LOVELENS Fine Art Photography

D: How did you get the idea or concept for your business?

The concept of LoveLens is to capture the Love & Connection through my lenses and frame it inside every picture of my clients.

D: What is your vision/mission for your company?

The mission of LoveLens is to “Create Timeless Pieces”. I really hope that my clients can reminisce the feeling of being in the picture when they look back at it, even in 20 years down the road.

D: How did you start it? What were some adversities you faced when starting it?

I started as a landscape photographer because I love to explore nature so much! #greenaddict. There was one time (luck was on my side), a friend of my sister reached me and offered me to do their outdoor pre-wedding photoshoot in Singapore. I asked them why they would like to chose me and they responded that I have great eyes in framing and they love the result of my pictures. I tried envisioning what it would be like to place this couple into my landscape pictures and guide them to bring out their chemistry on camera. That was the moment I realised, “Okay, we should do this”. After that, I started getting more enquiries and jobs (pre-wedding, wedding, family, graduation, maternity, baby, lookbook (fashion) and even underwater photo sessions)

D: What is something we might not know about the industry you’re in?

There are many photographers in this current millennial generation. Each and every one of us have our different & unique styles in photography. My suggestion is to go with the style that you really love (I mean it). It is totally worth it to engage them for your one-time major life event.

D: What has been the most memorable experience for you so far in running your business?

I can get to listen to a bunch of inspirational and sometimes cheesy-funny love stories from couples. Love them all!

D: How do you define success? Who do you see as successful?

Success is when we manage to never stop learning & put extra effort on what we love to do. Lastly it is about time management; finding a balance for work & friends/partner/family time.

D: Which habits of yours have gotten you to where you are today?

Consistency is the key and as the time goes by, people will recognize it.

D: What is one thing you would like your customers to know about your company?

LoveLens as you might already know, does not only wedding but also destination pre-wedding, family, maternity, baby, graduation and underwater shoots. We are open to any beautiful nature landscapes on this earth ;p for overseas pre-wedding.

D: If you could give advice to fellow and budding entrepreneurs, what would it be?

  1. START: you have to start somewhere to be able to reach your goal.
  2. Get feedback from your friends / colleagues on what you are doing. It is really valuable to tweak your business.
