DELEGATE: Tell us more about yourself 

I am currently working full time in a financial industry, and doing free-lance as a wedding stylist.

D: How did you get the idea or concept for your business?

I was a bride myself 3 years ago. DIY-ED my whole wedding myself and realise that i have found something that i really love doing was to decorate and style a particular place/venue.

D: What is your vision/mission for your company? 

My vision of my company was to expand further into craft workshops and also moving into a full time business in another 2-3 years. My Mission was to fulfil any client’s request and of course on top of fulfilling their request, i will also want to put in 100% effort in every single client no matter the size/ price of the event.


D: How did you start it? What were some adversities you faced when starting it?

I started out in Sept 2013 after my wedding, as i had quite alot of props after my wedding. Initially i thought i should sell all away, but one of my friend asked me why not try to rent it out to the clients who do not want to purchase so many items for their wedding, since it’s going to be a one time usage. So i said why not i try for a few months and see how it goes. I guess i did not face any issues on renting items out as it was quite straight forward. Renting means you pay a deposit and thereafter when item is returned with the same condition as rented out, we will then return the deposit amount.

D: What is something we might not know about the industry you’re in? 

I love to do hand made crafts, customized wedding, personalized wedding using raw materials like magazines/ newspapers/ used glass bottles/ used plastic containers and DIY accordingly to the theme color.

D: What has been the most memorable experience for you so far in running your business?

Most memorable will be having the correct employees or helpers that are there for you. I will never be able to run the business myself and do every single decoration myself. Due to time constraints, my helpers and employees will almost conquer any decorations within the time line given and that is something i really appreciate.

D: How do you define success? Who do you see as successful? 

I define success as happy clients happy success! With client’s praises and also compliments, that is really enough! I don’t see any competitors as my enemy. All of us have our own talents and a particular talented area. Success = Happiness

D: Which habits of yours have gotten you to where you are today?

Perservance and interest! Without this two habit elements, i don’t think i will be standing here today. As i’m still holding on to my full time job as well.

D: What is one thing you would like your customers to know about your company?

I’m a very friendly person! I’m really not fierce looking!

D: If you could give advice to fellow and budding entrepreneurs, what would it be?

So long as you are happy with what you are trying to achieve, you will get there in no time!
