DELEGATE: Tell us more about yourself
Thom approaches shoots with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
No wedding shoot is too outlandish, nor too simple to produce.
D: How did you get the idea or concept for your business?
This is probably not a business, more like a paid passion.
Once wedding photography goes into business mode, it falls into the dangerous territory of churning out cookie cutter images.
D: What is your vision/mission for your company?
Giving a great shoot experience, and producing real images that couples can identify themselves with.D: How did you start it? What were some adversities you faced when starting it?
Started way back in 2006. Was shooting part time and following established photographers around to shoot.
It’s Singapore, so photography is not really taken as a serious career.
D: What is something we might not know about the industry you’re in?
Bad apples. ;P
Like really rotten ones.
D: What has been the most memorable experience for you so far in running your business?
Handwritten thank you notes and appreciation from couples. I’m a sucker for these.
And they continue to engage your services for the milestones ahead, e.g pregnancy and the kids’ birthdays.
A part of you kinda grows with the family as you document the events.D: How do you define success? Who do you see as successful?
A happy photographer with happy clients is a very successful photographer.
D: Which habits of yours have gotten you to where you are today?
Being approachable and down to earth…i think?
D: What is one thing you would like your customers to know about your company?
It’s The Peeping Thom.
not The Peeping Tom,
nor is it The Peeing Thom.
And also, check your spam mail folder if you don’t hear back from me in 3 working days.
It’s….well….the name of my business.
D: If you could give advice to fellow and budding entrepreneurs, what wold it be?
Stay grounded and be kind to everyone.
